What is notification of the data subject of a personal data breach?

In the event of a breach of personal data, the controller must notify the appropriate supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, provided there is no reasonable expectation that the breach will put the rights and freedoms of natural persons at danger.
