What are Data protection principles?

Data protection principles are the rules that govern how data is collected, stored and processed. These principles are based on the fact that data is a form of wealth, and as such it's important to protect it from unauthorised access and use. The most important principle is that users should be informed about how their data will be used by organisations and companies.
