The basics
What's happening?
We’re moving your uploaded evidence from the Frameworks App into Controls: a more powerful home in DataGuard where it’s easier to manage, reuse, and keep audit-ready.
Why are you making this change?
In Controls, your evidence becomes a more powerful part of the platform because it lives where compliance work happens: alongside the actions and measures you put in place. You can reuse it across frameworks, track ownership, spot gaps, and stay audit-ready with less effort.
Do I need to do anything?
No action is needed for the migration itself. It runs automatically on your scheduled date. Beforehand, it’s worth making sure the controls you need are in place so your evidence links cleanly (see Before your migration below). If the timing doesn’t suit you, you can also delay or opt out.
Will this cost anything?
No. We continuously improve DataGuard, and this upgrade, including the migration, is part of your existing service at no additional cost.
Before your migration (getting the best result)
How will my evidence be connected in Controls?
During migration, we automatically link your evidence to the right controls using the platform’s built-in mapping. If a document is attached to a framework requirement with a matching control in your account, it will be placed there automatically. You can adjust the mapping afterwards to fit your custom setup if needed.
How can I make sure everything is linked correctly?
Before your migration date, make sure the controls you need are already set up. If evidence is linked to a framework requirement but the matching control doesn’t exist yet (for example, for some ISO management controls) it will still move across, but it will show up as “unmapped” until you link it. Setting up those controls first helps everything land in the right place from day one. If you’d like help checking, your DataGuard contact is there to support you.
Your evidence and data
Will I lose any of my evidence?
No. All your evidence moves across, including the files, their details, and their links to your requirements. Nothing is deleted, and you’ll be able to review everything afterwards.
Will my evidence stay linked to the right places?
Yes. Wherever a matching control already exists in your account, the link is preserved automatically, and your existing work stays intact. If a relevant control hasn’t been created yet, see Before your migration above.
What exactly moves?
Your uploaded documents, files, images, their details (such as names, dates, and descriptions), and the links between them and your framework requirements.
Is my data safe during the move?
Absolutely. This is an internal move within your existing DataGuard account, so your data stays in the same secure environment. No one outside your organisation gains access.
Will I lose access to my account?
No. Nothing changes about how you use DataGuard day to day. After the migration, you’ll simply find your evidence in Controls instead.
Timing and your choices
When will my account be migrated?
On the date shown in your notification email. We’ll send reminders beforehand, so nothing comes as a surprise.
I'm not ready. Can I delay or skip it?
Yes. If the timing doesn’t suit you, you can choose a later date or opt out for now. Just let us know before the date in your email.
How do I opt out or pick a later date?
Use the short form linked in your notification email: [opt-out form link]. It only takes about a minute.
How long can I delay it?
You can choose a later date up to 16 September 2026. After this date, we’re going to migrate your data as described above.
After the migration
Where do I find my evidence now?
You’ll find it in the Controls app under Evidence. It will be organised and ready to use, and we’ll show you where it is.
What if something doesn't look right?
If you notice anything that doesn’t look right, let your DataGuard contact know. You’ll have a chance to review what moved, and we’ll quickly support you in case anything seems off.
Will my team need to learn anything new?
Mostly, it’s about where your evidence now lives and what you can do with it there. It’s designed to be intuitive, and we’ll share a short guide so your team knows where to find everything.
Does this affect my audits or certifications?
No. Your evidence and its links stay intact, so your ongoing compliance work and audit readiness continue without interruption.
