What is storage limitation principle?

The Storage Limitation Principle (SLP) is a principle in data privacy that states that a third party may not access information or data that it does not have permission to access. The SLP prevents the "third party" from accessing information that it does not have permission to access, which could be abused by the third party if they had access to the information.
