Jacqueline Auma:
How is DataGuard making your life easier?
Having a platform with all the assessments in one place is really useful. That means I don't have to worry about spreadsheets anymore, where they are or where they're stored. Everything is all in one place.
I can do all my incidents and reporting in one platform. I can also do my subject access requests in the same platform. So it has just made my life a lot easier.
I don't have to go through lots of different spreadsheets and folders to find things anymore. Having everything in one place also helps with audits. If I have to show something to an auditor, I just have one place to go to get all the information that I need.
Which DataGuard features helped you most?
I would say there are two.
The first one is Assessments. We have to assess pretty much everything that we do, and all projects have to go through an assessment, so Assessments are really useful.
The other one that I tend to use quite often is Incidents. Even if they are minor incidents, it’s good to have that one place where I can report all of them.
So the features I use most are Assessments and Incidents.
Why did you choose DataGuard?
That one is actually quite easy. The staff were amazing.
Compared to the previous vendor that we used, I found the DataGuard people approachable and easy to speak to. They answered all my questions whenever I had them, so basically there was no competition between DataGuard and the other vendors that I looked at.
The other reason is the ease of use. If you’re doing privacy work, you already have a busy daily job. The last thing you want is to start fighting with the system you're working with. I found DataGuard really easy to use, so those were the two main reasons.
